Utility Rate Increase Effective February 1, 2024, and January 1, 2025

At the Regular Council Meeting on November 21, 2023, Council approved changes to water and wastewater utility rates. The notable changes include a 7% general increase affecting variable rates, capital levies, and flat fees. These adjustments will come into effect on February 1, 2024, followed by another 7% increase on January 1, 2025. Initial fee changes will be reflected on your February utility bill, sent around February 28, 2024, with payment due by March 25, 2024.

Wheatland County is committed to delivering user-pay services tailored to the needs of its residents, and community utilities serves as a great example of this commitment. One of our strategic objectives is to achieve reasonable cost recovery for utility services. Although the County subsidizes water and wastewater services, this rate revision represents a step toward achieving this goal.

If you have any concerns, please contact our office at 403-934-3321.

Detailed rate information is in the Schedule of Fees.
