2024 Wheatland Agriculture and Environment Program Update
2024 was a notable year for the Wheatland County Agriculture Service Board (ASB), marked by the acquisition of new mowing technology and equipment, the introduction of new award categories, and continued success in existing programs. The year also saw the launch of Shelterbelt and Eco-buffer Demonstration Projects at three locations: the field adjacent to the Wheatland County Administration Building, in the hamlet of Rosebud, and near the Carseland Fire Hall.
An exciting new initiative for which planning has commenced, is the 2026 Provincial ASB Summer Tour. Historically, these summer tours have been held throughout Alberta, and aim to educate participants about advancements in agriculture, showcase local farmers, and foster collaboration within the agricultural community. This opportunity provides ASB members from across the province with a platform to learn, collaborate, and engage with the agricultural sector.
We are pleased to present this 2024 Agriculture & Environment Program Update, which provides detailed information on the programs and services we offer and highlights the achievements of the ASB. The full report is available here.
