Wheatland County has adopted a Vision and Mission Statement that provides a long-term focus for our community and for the corporation. Our shorter-term focus is provided through our 2022-2025 Strategic Plan. To get a feel for the type of organization we are, read about our commitment. The 4-year plan is developed by each newly elected County Council. It is linked to the vision and sets the goals for the corporation during the length of their elected term.
We believe that being a sustainable organization is important to our current and long term success. We offer progressive human resources and organizational design practices, including a flat organizational design. This structure enables us to maintain an empowering environment allowing our people to make decisions to meet the current and future needs of the clients they serve. Our corporation is grouped into several larger departments.
Within these departments, we have over 30 divisions that offer a variety of diverse and complex services provided by over 150 talented and highly qualified employees. It takes all kinds of people to make up a community and working for Wheatland is no different. We are diverse in our services, our people, with each of us bringing varied and unique talents, backgrounds, needs, expectations, perspectives, and experiences to our work. Together, we make up an excellent corporation! At Wheatland County, we are building a sustainable community with people who want to make a difference.
Wheatland County encourages respect during each interaction and provides employees with the necessary information and tools to recognize and respond to many types of situations. The primary goal is to raise awareness about the importance of respect in the workplace for all Wheatland employees. This campaign enables Wheatland County to maintain an ongoing commitment to a positive culture of respect while fostering a safe and healthy work environment. Employee engagement is built on a foundation of respect which is a key element in making Wheatland County a great employer.
Through our work with the Joint Work Site Health and Safety Committee, Social Committee, Lunch ‘n Learn information sessions, and our day-to-day interactions with one another, we strive to create a workplace where employees are supported, respected, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
