Area Structure Plans (ASPs) are documents that are approved by Council as bylaws. The documents are used by the County when evaluating planning or development applications within the specific areas.
Intermunicipal Development Plans (IDPs) are agreements between two or more municipalities, which outline how planning and development decisions will be made when they affect both sides of the boundary lines.
The intent and goal of a Land Use Bylaw is to ensure orderly, efficient and sustainable development that maintains a high quality of life for ratepayers, protects the public good while ensuring proper development and economic opportunity through clearly defined rules and regulations.
A Municipal Development Plan (MDP) is the primary vision for the County and addresses many topics including: land use planning and development, agricultural and environmental protection, and transportation.
Staff will go over the application with you, to be sure it is complete and correct…so you don’t have to do it twice!
The Regional Growth Management Strategy (RGMS) is similar to the MDP, but looks forward to 40 years. The RGMS explores growth, infrastructure, municipal services, economic, and environmental impacts.
