Direct Control Districts
A Direct Control District (DCD) provides a land use designation for parcels that, due to unique characteristics or innovative design, require specific regulations not available within other land use districts. Each DCD includes tailored rules and regulations that apply to the parcel of land designated under that district. In cases involving discretionary uses, unless otherwise specified within a particular DCD, Council is the authority responsible for rendering decisions on those uses and any variance requests.
All Direct Control (DC) bylaws are included in Wheatland County’s Land Use Bylaw, which serves as the complete and current regulatory framework.
