Women in Agriculture Award

This award is a tribute to the remarkable Wheatland County women working in agriculture who have made a lasting impact on the agricultural community. Beyond working in the fields and tending to livestock, these women have been catalysts for change, breaking barriers, and reshaping the narrative of agriculture. Through their resilience, innovation, and leadership, they have not only contributed to the growth of crops and cattle but have also nurtured communities, empowered fellow farmers, and championed a more inclusive and sustainable future in agriculture.  This award recognizes women who, with passion and determination, have significantly enriched the agricultural industry, leaving an inspirational legacy for future generations.

Award recipients will receive:

  • A certificate of recognition
  • $250 to support their agricultural initiatives
  • Public acknowledgment through Wheatland County’s website, social media, local newspapers, and newsletters
  • Their names displayed on a commemorative plaque at the County Administration Office

Beaupre Memorial Campground (Gleichen)-Seasonal Closure

The Beaupre Memorial Campground in Gleichen will be closed for the season effective October 27, 2025.

Please note that winterization of the restroom and RV dump may occur earlier if weather conditions fall below freezing.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping keep our campground facilities in good condition.

Lakes of Muirfield Mailbox Relocation

Wheatland County, in partnership with Canada Post, will be relocating community mailboxes in the Lakes of Muirfield due to a pending land sale. New locations have been selected within public road rights-of-way to better serve residents.

Concrete pads will be installed this summer, with relocation expected by the end of October 2025.
