Wheatland County deploys firefighters to assist with the escalating wildfire crisis in northern Alberta

On May 9, 2023, the Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) requested Wheatland County’s aid to combat the escalating wildfire crisis in northern Alberta. With careful coordination across all departments, Wheatland County’s crews assembled at 8:00 am on May 10, 2023, for a comprehensive briefing and were successfully deployed with seven apparatus and fourteen personnel. Our teams will be aiding firefighting efforts in Buck Creek, Grand Prairie County, and Fox Creek areas.⁣⁣⁣⁣
