Resumption of HWY 817 Construction Notice
Attention Motorists:
Wheatland County received notice that construction on HWY 817, from the Bow River to north of the HWY 901 Junction, and HWY 24 intersection is scheduled to resume in May 2023. The tentative schedule is shown below:

Schedules are subject to change based on weather, fatigue management and equipment breakdowns. Notices will be posted on 511 Alberta (https://511.alberta.ca), while the Contractor will employ variable message boards to notify motorists of work zones.
The highway will remain open throughout the remainder of construction operations, as the Contractor will employ one-lane alternating closures when workers are present on the highway surface.
Please avoid foot traffic within the project limits.
We ask for local residents’ patience and understanding as there may be traffic delays and increased levels of noise and dust during construction.
