Attention Wheatland County Residents!
The Wheatland County Agriculture and Environment staff will be out in the County until the end of September conducting field surveys for weeds, grasshoppers, wheat-head diseases and clubroot. This service aims to assist the agricultural community in identifying agricultural pests and diseases in the County and data collected may be included in provincial and federal forecasts.
Staff performing these surveys are appointed as provincial inspectors under the Agricultural Pests Act and Weed Control Act, they may legally enter onto any land at a reasonable hour for the purpose of inspecting for agricultural weeds and pests. Vehicles are red and clearly marked as Wheatland County. Staff will be happy to show identification and explain their activities in your field.
