Wheatland County Releases a New Website
For Immediate Release
WHEATLAND COUNTY, AB (June 12, 2020) – Wheatland County is excited to announce the launch of the new, refreshed and reorganized municipal website.
Residents, businesses, and visitors can explore Wheatland’s community and recreational opportunities, financial information, public notices, emergency alerts, County services, and infrastructure and development updates.
The new municipal website is mobile-friendly, accessibility compliant, and offers an enhanced user experience. The website features an intuitive search function, an informational newsfeed and events calendar, document and forms centre, as well as readily available Council meetings, agendas, and minutes.
The new website has been built in-house and was significantly restructured to showcase a service-based view rather than the current department-based site organization as Wheatland County’s services are a collaborative effort between departments and divisions. Site visitors can now find information pertaining to a particular service, on a single page; reducing the number of times visitors are routed around throughout the site.
“As a Council, we are committed to continually improving the communication between the municipality and our community,” remarked Wheatland County Reeve Amber Link. “The launch of the newly redesigned municipal website represents another important step in that direction. Wheatland County strives to effectively engage with its citizens and other interested audiences. The goal was to design a website that is citizen-focused and accessible, while remaining a reliable resource of news, promotions, and other information,” she added.
On Monday, June 15, 2020, visitors of wheatlandcounty.ca, will be greeted with the new, refreshed site.
