County Council

Wheatland County and Foothills County Draft IDP

Wheatland County and Foothills County are proposing amendments to their Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP) and will be holding their respective Public Hearings prior to considering the amended plan for approval.

The planned Public Hearings will provide the opportunity for anyone who claims to be affected by the proposed plan to speak before Council. 1st and 2nd readings of the bylaws to amend the plan may take place after the Public Hearing process. 3rd reading will be postponed until the Calgary Metropolitan Region Board (CMRB) review takes place and approval is granted. CMRB approval is necessary because the portion of the IDP plan area in Foothills County is within the CMRB area. The public hearings are scheduled as follows:

WHEATLAND COUNTY PROPOSED BYLAW NO. 2019-19
9:00 a.m., July 16, 2019
Wheatland County Council Chambers

FOOTHILLS COUNTY PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO BYLAW NO. 81/2015
2:00 p.m., July 3, 2019
Foothills County Council Chambers

The IDP Plan Area is proposed to remain unchanged from the current plan and it should be noted that the adoption of an IDP does not involve land annexation or the rezoning of land within the Plan Area.

If you have questions, comments, or requests for the document please forward your comments via email, phone, or letter to the below contacts for Wheatland County by June 28th, 2019 or for a submission to Foothills County please provide letters a minimum of 2 days prior to the hearing date of July 3rd. No comments via telephone will be considered.
