Utility Rate Increase Effective November 1, 2022

At the Regular Council Meeting on August 16, 2022, Council approved an increase to the water and sewer utility rates effective November 1, 2022. The rate increase reflects an increase of 15% on variable rates, capital levies, and flat fees. The rate change will appear on your utility bill that will be mailed out on November 30, 2022 (for the November period) and will be due on December 22, 2022.

Wheatland County is committed to providing user pay services to Wheatland County residents and Hamlet utilities is an example of such a user pay service. One of our strategic goals is to obtain full cost recovery on all user pay services. While water and sewer services continue to be subsidized by the County, this rate revision brings the County closer to achieving its goal.
