Wheatland County is undertaking a road base reconstruction project along Township Road 240 from Range Road 270 to Railway Avenue, new road construction along Township Road 240 from Railway Avenue to Highway 24, replacement of a bridge-sized culvert along Township Road 240, and a creek realignment along Range Road 263 north of Township Road 240.

Progress to Date
  • Reconstruction of 3 miles of roadway from Range Road 270 to Range Road 263 
  • Bridge-sized culvert replacement at Range Road 263 
  • Construction of 0.5 miles of new road grade, from the S-curves to Highway 24
Work Ahead
  • Creek relocation work near Range Road 263 to mitigate roadway washouts
  • Road reconstruction resuming in April along Township Road 240 from Range Road 263 to the pavement in Cheadle
  • Construction of the T-intersection at Railway Avenue and Township Road 240
  • Final topsoil grading and additional gravel placement along the remainder of the project
  • Project work anticipated to be fully completed by June 30

Project Impacts

Construction
  • Sequenced road closures, detours, and restricted access to the construction area. Emergency and residential access will be maintained throughout construction.
  • Temporary fencing, tree removal and brush clearing where required
