Stormwater construction activities commenced this week, and the contractor is well ahead of schedule. The contractor will finalize grading, seeding, and paving early next week and is expected to demobilize from site by the end of next week. Please continue to exercise caution and follow all posted signage and closures in the area.
Construction Period – May 29, 2023 to late June 2023
Wheatland County is doing improvements to the stormwater drainage in various locations along Martin Avenue and Comstock Street.
Construction is planned to begin as weather permits the week of May 29th, 2023 and crews are anticipated be working until late June 2023.
Stormwater Improvements will include:
- Underground stormwater line, storm outlet and catch basin installation along Comstock Street
- Concrete curb and swale installation along Martin Ave
- Grading improvements along Comstock Street
Comstock Street will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic during construction. Residential parking and access to properties will remain available via alleys. Emergency access will remain available throughout the duration of the project. Please follow all posted signage.
Once construction commences, weekly updates will be posted on the County website: www.wheatlandcounty.ca
The contractor will reach out directly to impacted property owners to review and coordinate site specifics and other project related details as required.
