National Day of Mourning 2021
Every year on April 28 we pay our respects to, and remember, the thousands of workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness as a result of work-related incidents.
Sadly, Alberta lost 150 people to workplace injury or illness in 2020.
On April 28, we remember. Take a moment to honour lives forever changed.
It is as much a day to commemorate those workers whose lives have been lost or injured as it is a reminder to strengthen our resolve and establish safer work practices and conditions. Together we can work toward a safer workplace for all Canadians.
Please look out for your coworkers and if you see something, say something! Safety first, last, and always.
