Day of Mourning

On April 28th, we pause to honor and remember the workers who have lost their lives, been injured, or suffered illnesses due to work-related incidents.

In 2022 alone, 161 people in Alberta lost their lives due to workplace injury or illness, leaving their loved ones to mourn their untimely loss.

In recognition of this solemn occasion, Wheatland County has lowered its flags to half mast as a tribute to the lives forever changed by these tragedies.

May we continue to work towards creating safer work environments and preventing further loss and injury.
