Tom Ikert
Division 4 Councillor
I moved out to the farm with my parents in 1968.
After graduating from Samuel Crowther High School, I spent the next 10 years in the Strathmore area while I obtained my Red Seal in carpentry from SAIT. I’ve been self employed since 1989.
I’m married to Crystal and together, we raised four children—Cameron, Jehn, Amanda, and Carlee, and are enjoying our nine grandchildren.
We moved back to the farm in 2007, where Crystal pursues her love for horses, dogs, and donkeys. We also raise a few cattle.
I look forward to representing Division 4 and Wheatland County in the coming years. The unique challenge of Division 4 will be identifying a workable balance between being 12 minutes from the City of Calgary and our large agricultural base. Finding harmony between growth and the status quo will be an ambitious undertaking.
Regards,
