Changes to Container Recycling Program
In January 2022, cleanfarms announced changes to their recycling program for <23L pesticide & fertilizer containers.
Here is what cleanfarms will be doing in 2022:
- Providing rolls of collection bags to all ag retailers and municipalities in the province
- Strongly encouraging ag retailers to provide collection bags to growers at the point of purchase
- Strongly encouraging all growers to use the bags to:
- Easily bag the containers on-site
- Make transportation process easier
- Makes recycling process easier
- Keep municipal and retail sites clean and organized
- Strongly encouraging all municipalities to request their ratepayers to use bags moving forward.
How does this affect you?
Bags have been our transfer sites in Standard, Hussar, and Wheatland West. When dropping off <23L pesticide & fertilizer containers at these locations, you will be provided with a bag on-site.
Please remember to properly rinse all pesticide & fertilizer containers.
