Wheatland County has undertaken engineering and design work for the reconstruction TWP 264, from Highway 56 to RR 203, in accordance with the approved Capital 5-Year Road Construction Program.
As such, a geotechnical investigation must be completed, which involves drilling small boreholes into the road to determine the soil types and conditions within the existing roadway. This information will allow our consultants to determine to what extent reconstruction of the existing road is necessary and will inform the design of the new road structure.
Between March 2 – 4, 2026 (weather permitting), Wheatland County will have contractors conducting the geotechnical investigation along TWP 264 and traffic will be reduced to a single lane along sections of the road. Please follow all posted signage to allow for safe completion of the work.
As design progresses on this project, affected landowners will be contacted by a County representatives to discuss any potential impacts to their properties.
