Wheatland County’s Agricultural Service Board (ASB) is proud to recognize the dedication, innovation, and community spirit that drive our local agricultural industry. Through our awards and recognition programs, we honour the individuals, families, and organizations who go above and beyond to advance agriculture, support their neighbours, and preserve the land for future generations. These awards celebrate the people who embody the heart of rural life and the strength of our farming community.

The Wheatland County Agricultural Service Board (ASB) invites students past and present who are planning on furthering their studies in the field of agriculture or environmental science-related field to apply for local financial assistance.

ASB will provide up to $10,000 in scholarships annually with a minimum award of $500 and a maximum award of $2,500 depending upon the number of applicants that meet the criteria. Scholarships are available to students who reside within the boundaries of Wheatland County including recent graduates (within 3 years).

Eligible Applicants 

  • Students who live within the boundaries of Wheatland County
  • Recent graduates (within 3 years)
  • Students planning to continue their studies in agriculture or environment-related programs

Not Eligible 

  • Previous Scholarship Recipients
  • Funding is not available to persons qualifying for or participating in job training assistance grants

The Wheatland County Agriculture Service Board proudly presents the Master Farm Family Award, celebrating families who demonstrate excellence in farming, ranching, business management, and community involvement. This prestigious award honors families who embody agricultural innovation, resilience, and dedication, inspiring future generations while strengthening their communities.

 

Award recipients will receive:

  • A certificate of recognition
  • $250 to support their agricultural initiatives
  • Public acknowledgment through Wheatland County’s website, social media, local newspapers, and newsletters
  • Their names displayed on a commemorative plaque at the County Administration Office

This award is a tribute to the remarkable Wheatland County women working in agriculture who have made a lasting impact on the agricultural community. Beyond working in the fields and tending to livestock, these women have been catalysts for change, breaking barriers, and reshaping the narrative of agriculture. Through their resilience, innovation, and leadership, they have not only contributed to the growth of crops and cattle but have also nurtured communities, empowered fellow farmers, and championed a more inclusive and sustainable future in agriculture.  This award recognizes women who, with passion and determination, have significantly enriched the agricultural industry, leaving an inspirational legacy for future generations.
